The Coil On Plug (COP) Quick Ignition tester is a battery-operated, hand-held quick tester designed to easily and quickly determine if a COP is producing a proper spark for the plug.

The quick tester works by receiving a signal from the secondary ignition coil. Once the signal is received, the tester determines if the COP is producing the correct amount of voltage and the duration of the arc. If the voltage is correct, the tester beeps and the red LED light flashes; and if the duration of the arc is correct, the green LED will also flash

No response or an inconsistent response indicates the COP is NOT producing the correct amount of voltage. This may be caused by one of the following:

1. Fouled spark plug, or incorrect gap
2. Damaged/corroded wires or connectors
3. Faulty coil or PCM
4.  

Green LED light
Consistent and steady flashing indicates the duration of the arc is correct.

No response or an inconsistent response indicates the duration of the arc is NOT correct. This may be caused by one of the following:
1.Shorted windings inside the coil
2. Resistance or bad connections in the
3. primary / secondary connections
4. Faulty coil

Ignition System KV Quick Tester
Ignition system quick tester is designed to works on distributor and DIS systems, quick measure KV value of the secondary ignition and compare peak kV, or verify the proper firing of the secondary ignition system, Quick tester battery Operated and easy to use, simply place the probe over the ignition wire. Each time the tester detects a spark firing, it will flash the Super Bright LED strobe indicating a spark-firing event with sufficient arc duration. Then press the button and the unit measures and displays peak kV on the LCD display. Super Bright LED strobe allows the user to determine if the secondary ignition is firing consistently, intermittently misfiring, or not firing at all. Indicates spark polarity on DIS systems. Detect problems caused by faulty wires, plugs, cap, rotor, coil(s), etc.

Coil on Plug Ignition Quick Tester

Each time the tester detects a spark firing it will flash the bright LED strobe indicating sufficient kV and flash the green LED indicating sufficient Arc Duration. This allows you to determine if the coil is firing the spark plug consistently, intermittently misfiring or not firing at all.
